Tasting Notes
A dry Rosé with a delicate pink colour, scents of spice-coated strawberry & vivid flavours of red cherry plum.
Food Suggestions
A perfect match for antipasti, grilled chicken, prawns, salmon, or just to enjoy by itself on a warm summer's evening. Serve between 7°C and 10°C.
In The Vineyard
We harvest selected rows of Pinotage vines early to create this distinctive dry rosé. We carefully monitor the vineyards to ensure optimal ripeness and flavour development. Grapes are hand- picked in the cool early morning hours and chilled before crushing to preserve their natural freshness and vibrant fruit character.
In The Cellar
This wine has a light pink colour due to short skin contact during fermentation.
Additional Information
The Villa Esposto wine range, pays tribute to the many Italians who played a pivotal role in the field of winemaking as well as various civil engineering projects. In particular, it pays homage to Louis Theodore Esposto, who arrived from Italy in 1914. Louis and many other Italians built the water canals which is a vital fountain of life for the Olifants river wine-growing region.
This label depicts the landscapes of the Olifants River region and tells the story of the Olifants River Irrigation Scheme. It emphasises the Maskam Mountain, a prominent landmark of the area, and highlights the Bulshoek Dam, which was constructed between 1913 and 1914. Following severe floods, the sluice gates were commissioned in 1920. By 1924, the canal network and associated infrastructure had been completed, establishing it as South Africa's oldest irrigation scheme.
