Tasting Notes
The bouquet opens with a vibrant blend of sweet strawberry jam, rich raisins, and aromatic fynbos. On the palate, concentrated notes of dried apricot and raisin take center stage, framed by gentle cedar oak and anchored by a beautifully integrated, savory-earthy undertone on the finish.

In The Vineyard
The Red Muscadel grapes for our African Vermouth Rooibos Infused are sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Trawal region. Specific vineyard blocks are identified and monitored throughout the ripening stage to ensure exceptional fruit quality and flavour concentration. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness.
About The Harvest
The Red Muscadel is infused with Rooibos and Buchu in much the same way tea is steeped in hot water, but on a larger scale in 300-litre French and American oak barrels. Only premium-quality tea, sourced from the local region, is used. The botanicals remain in contact with the wine during maturation, contributing distinctive South African character and complexity.
In The Cellar
Our African Vermouth Rooibos Infused is crafted from sweet Red Muscadel and matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels for approximately 36 months. During ageing, we infuse Rooibos and Buchu directly into the barrels, keeping them in contact with the wine throughout maturation. This creates a uniquely South African vermouth with rich sweetness, herbal complexity, and elegant oak character.
Additional Information
The label emphasizes the word African as this product is proudly South African. A combination of wine and rooibos, two of South Africa's agricultural industries. When the sun or winter fire reflects on the bottle, it has a beautiful red-brown colour, just like our African sunsets.
Our wines are born in the Olifants River Valley, where carefully selected vineyards thrive between river and desert. Long days of sunshine, cooling river influence, and mineral-rich soils create fruit with clarity, balance, and depth. The result is wines with substance and soul- unpretentious, balanced, and distinctly ours.
