Growing up in the Boland, and surrounded by wine farms, Pieter van Aarde was like Royco soup: "Just add water". But, in his case: "Just add wine".
Pieter started as assistant winemaker at Rooiberg Winery in 1999, and in 2002 he was appointed as red winemaker at Swartland Winery, where his knowledge of winemaking was widely expanded. In 2004 he became manager/winemaker of Clairvaux Cellar in Robertson, where he soon realized that the winemaking process is the nicest part in the wine chain, and wine selling the most important and difficult part. We believe that his worthy cellar management and people- and negotiation skills gained during these past years will be of great value to Klawer Cellars.
What would Pieter like to achieve as production manager of Klawer Wine Cellars? He aims to make quality wines, sell wines within good and right price ranges, and make Klawer Wine Cellars' brands well known.
